Asia'H Epperson Is Terrible

Asia'H Epperson was booted out of American Idol last week and rightly so as she has been terrible since getting through to the top 12, continually ignoring Cowell's advice to stop singing the big songs which are not suitable for her lack of range and power. During the auditions, Asia'H Epperson banked big time on her own personal tragedy where her dad died unfortunately before she made it there and it has actually been on that angle that she has gained attention, not to mention baring some skin like her well toned midriff. Epperson's flighty demeanour has also meant the boys over the world getting the hots for her and it was no surprise that she started glamming it up with all sorts of ridiculously loud outfits and not working on her singing which was deteriorating.

Asia'H Epperson never had much of a voice - definitely the gravelly tone was attractive and most suitable for slow deep ballads but singing Whitney Houston and other big tunes would always lead to her downfall. In short, Asia'H Epperson sucked and never really stood a chance at being American Idol in this season 7. What will be next for the flighty waitress - would she be picked up for vocal coaching and a recording contract, or maybe some sex scandal involving Asia'H Epperson might be waiting in the shadows in the future with all the lurid details of her personal life.

American Idol Season 7 Top 50 Becomes Top 24

So who from the Top 50 made it to the American Idol Top 24 list for season 7? It's not like you don't already know since we revealed it earlier before this episode was aired today and even a mystery picture from Fox which showed the Top 24 contestants with Simon Cowell's face pasted over them provided many clues as to who got through. But today's show started as usual in good old American style - full of cheese and corn and showing how short Ryan Seacrest really is.

With this season 7 having some of the best talents ever since American Idol started, it was fair that the judges had a tough job on their hands in selecting the top 24 list, especially when there was no benefit of a last round of auditions to convince them. Simon Cowell did not seem happy with the final picks but as long as the winner goes to his label, why should he care too much.

It was fun as usual watching all the fake oh my goshes and sad looks on the American Idol hopefuls when they heard a fellow contestant did not make the cut for the Top 24. C'mon now peeps! One down, one more chance for you. That's the thing about American Idol - it really shows you how fake people are. And Asia'H Epperson was the first one to display that - now we all know Asia'H Epperson made it ever since her Myspace page was taken off by Fox. But girl, enough of that personal tragedy spin and fake goody two shoes persona. I know you can sing, but keep it real, Asia'H. And get rid of that overdone makeup.

There was never any doubt that Carly Smithson would make it. The European's got great power and range in her vocals but lacks just that little bit of confidence. Paula Abdul the evil little witch decided to mess around with Carly Smithson's head before letting her know that she made it to the Top 24. This really showed how evil Paula Abdul really is and she's the number one poser on American Idol. Simon Cowell thought she was bad ass and gave her a piece of his mind.

I'm not so sure why David Cook wowed the judges, except Simon. He almost lost his voice there and does not have that versatility required to shine on American Idol. Remember contestants are supposed to sing in various genres. Amanda Overmyer has a much better voice but again, that unsuitability of her voice in other genres would work against her. And she's got a really bad look. Goth will never make it on American Idol.

Paralyzed vocal boy David Archeluta was a shoo in for the Top 24 for American Idol season 7 since the preliminary auditions but he does have some dodgy pitch problems and it will be magnified tenfold come the Top 24 auditions trust me. No matter how much of a pure voice and 'complete package' you might have, you still need to nail the notes perfectly, David.

Kristy Lee Cook is next she's hot just hot but really Kristy has a problem she does not seem to be able to sing anything well or consistently enough except Amazing Grace and I'm afraid she might not last beyond the first week of the Top 24. American Idol season 7 needs you, Kristy, so buck up and show the world that you can sing just as well as you look. I'm gonna buy that old CD of yours now.

Brooke The Nanny White actually does look like The Nanny in the film of the same name. Perhaps she needs to start watching some R rated movies in order to calm her nerves. I never understood why these American Idol contestants would cry so much. Brooke White'll quit if she doesn't get to the Top 24 even though we know she did get through but these children are not that passionate about their music really. Giving up if you don't make it in American Idol? Brooke White does look increasingly hot though, especially in that little red one piece.

Now I don't really like Danny Noriega that much. He's a strange looking kid and either he really loves theatre or likes soap on the floor. Kinda over confident as well, different from when he got booted out in a previous season. Still, he is impressive on vocals, but if you did not make it previously, you ain't gonna make it this time, Danny Noriega.

Nothing much has been made of young Alexandre Lushington but keep an eye out for this girl. She might just do big things this season. I remember her audition and she was really good. Another one that should do well enough would be short little cutie Ramiele Malubay because the whole Filipino community would be voting for her and that's one huge group you can bet your bottom dollar on it. Simon Cowell just wants to hug her you know it that old dirty man.

Strongest guy in the Top 24 list would be Michael Johns great voice and range but again he might suffer from having to sing other genres beyond that of which he's comfortable with so we shall see how he does next week. Syesha Mercado made it as well and the only things that she needs to improve are her health and that silly hairdo. Spare a little thought for Josiah Leming though - thought his Hollywood auditions really sucked but the guy obviously wanted it so bad and his segment after getting turned down for the Top 24 list was the most heartbreaking moment on American Idol season 7 so far.

Colton Berry has no chance. Making up the numbers that is all. Maybe for Paula Abdul to hug when she wants little boys to cuddle up with. But Joanne Borgella should do well for a while as she's likeable and has a big voice although it kinda gets squeaky in the higher register. It's a little too bad Cardin McKinney did not make it through as she does have that look for an American Idol future scandal watch but we'll have to do with Amy Davis and Kristy Lee Cook for now.

So it's on to the Top 24 elimination rounds starting next week with the Top 12 guys and girls before decision day on Thursday. Can't wait for more of American Idol this season 7 - I'm sure you can't either!

American Idol Season 7 Goes To Hollywood

This week American Idol season 7 finally goes to Hollywood, with 164 contestants heading to the next round of auditions thinking they know what they're in for but Ryan Seacrest disagrees and welcomes us to Hollywood. And clean cut Brooke White she of the no sex no movies no frills persona is up first on show and introduces us to instrumentation for the contestants for the first time in the first round of American Idol's Hollywood auditions. She plays Beautiful and that's what she looks like as well as a ride to the final day of Hollywood. And by the way all that crap about this being the first American Idol season to allow instruments was just so untrue - it has been allowed before in the past.

Next you have Lorena Pinot as an example of an easy 'No' from the judges as she could not sing and was decked out in a cheesy outfit that was so passe. Amy Flynn was also cut after the second round as she could not hit the high notes. Maybe some sex would do her good. Do we need to know more of those who were dropped? I really thought not as well.

So let's talk about the ones who did get through to the next round. Before that a tip to American Idol wannabes - stay away from playing your instruments if you want to get through. They want singers, not instrumentalists. Like Randy Jackson said "Just sing next time, baby" and that's what all of you should do.

David Hernandez took that up and he was great. Nice smooth voice and showed more of what he could do vocally compared to his San Diego auditions. It sounded effortless as well with his little vocal gymnastics. Definitely one to look out for in the finals David Hernandez. The only thing that might stop him are his nerves. Sure did not look confident before and even after.

Rock and roll nurse Amanda Overmyer showed quality in the earlier auditions and came up with her own sob story before Hollywood, saying how she totaled her car one week before and suffered some injuries including 12 staples in her head but could she still sing? Did you all notice how much Simon Cowell loves Amanda - he winks at her all the time. We know Simon's taste in women but you never realised how much of a nurse fetish he had. Honestly though, I don't dig Amanda Overmyer at all. She'll suffer in other genres other than rock or non-angsty songs. And Simon Cowell echoed what I thought. Great minds think alike.

No sign of Kristy Lee Cook yet.

Little gerbil and Brit wannabe Josiah Leming would never be American Idol simply because he doesn't think he's American and the worst news would befall him when he gets to the final round. He could set up his own Brit pop band though and that might get him a record deal with Randy Jackson. Spare a thought for him though - he tried too hard and a real heartbreaker really. But Ramiele Malubay would be in the stakes for a long while - you can be sure the Filipino community would be voting like crazy for this little girl. Some other potential finalists would be Michael Lee Johns and Carly Smithson who looks like making up for lost time. It looks like this year might be the year of the gruff voice and rocker chicks as we have quite a number of these getting through, including David Cook and Robbie Carrico. Perhaps American Idol season 7 might see the revival of Chris Daughtry version 2.

Cataldo did not make it through to the final round of Hollywood auditions. You could see his true self emerging on this episode of American Idol. All that gangster attitude just flowing out.

Kristy Lee Cook finally makes an appearance and redid her Amazing Grace acapella that finally got her through. Not a good sign that she needed two rounds but let's hope she picks herself up and makes a great big push to the finals. But she's got big competition in David Archuleta - all the judges loved him although he's not perfect vocally. But Syesha Mercado overcame sickness and loss of voice and she could surprise many in the finals if she stays away from the same situation. Michael Johns was terrific this could be the dark horse of American Idol although he's got too much of an Australian twang and you know guys like him have lesser chance from American voters.

Asia'H Epperson actually looked pretty good this round of auditions, sang well and really seemed like a complete package. Simon Cowell loved her and you know that's always good. At the end of it all, you get your American Idol season 7 final top 24.

The show has not been aired yet this week, but the Top 24 list for American Idol Season 7 is now out. The episode will be shown this Wednesday on Feb 13, Fox at 8 pm ET/PT, so you can catch up to find out what each of the 24 finalists' faces are, although more recognizable names are here Such as scandal contender Amy Davis, and hottie kickboxer Kristy Lee Cook.

Asia'H Epperson In American Idol Season 7 Top 24?

While this week will see the start of the elimination rounds of American Idol season 7 that will whittle down the hundreds of contestants and celebrity wannabes to the top 24 that will qualify for the American Idol finals, news of the Top 24 list having been leaked on the Internet has already started and many are trying to find out who qualified for this final round. One sure sign is that any online personal profile page of an American Idol Top 24 finalist will be removed as requested by Fox Network and American Idol. Asia'H Epperson has been one of the first few to receive such attention as her Myspace page has since been removed and celebrity pictures of her are not that easy to find. If you did not notice Asia'H Epperson in the auditions, shame on you. She was one of the sob stories of Season 7, where her dad was killed on her way to the auditions and she pulled through to qualify. Although I personally thought her singing was not that up to par, the judges loved her and thought Asia'H was good enough to go to Hollywood.

Asia'H Epperson's Myspace page has been removed and this is a sure sign that she has qualified for the Top 24. We will bring you more news of Asia'H and other contestants who have stood out and qualified for this prestigious list as the American Idol season 7 show continues this week. You can bet your bottom dollar that many of the singers who have gotten into the Top 24 would be professional singers or those with experience, as American Idol was severely criticised last year for a lack of quality.

Asia'H Epperson is now ranked 14 on Entertainment Weekly's American Idol Power Rankings for week 4, as she steadily moves up the charts. Slammed for her quivering vocals as she struggled to sing properly while holding back her tears, she is expected to move further up on the strength of her sob story. But in time to come, what would be expected more than her voice will be pictures of her growing celebrity status as Asia'H Epperson does have quite a hot body on top of a great singing voice.

But Asia'H Epperson overdoes it on the drama and shouting diva tracks. She must really have thought that she was that good. To be honest, she was already exposed during her very first audition - Asia'H's voice is limited and not suitable for screaming tracks - maybe the slow soft ballads would serve her better.
