Will David Archuleta Win American Idol Season 7?

Every time David Archeluta gets mentioned on American Idol season 7, the crowd (or basically, the girls and women) go absolutely berzerk and scream for the young one. What is even more amazing is that this future celebrity pop star, definitely has the goods to make it - great singing voice, great vocals, nice charming "Oh gee" personality, and (so far) really down to earth and humble. Not to mention that super celebrity megawatt smile - bound to knock every woman off her feet and if Paula Abdul says that she wants to cuddle you, it simply means she wished that David Archuleta was a little bit older so that she can continue being the next Diana Ross. And loving that rearview mirror angle tells you just what position Paula really loves. The rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine" was simply superb with all the fine nuances of vocal styling and the rest of the contestants have to learn something from this little guy - all that soul at such a young age.

The closest guys that come close to David Archuleta are, in my opinion, Michael Johns and David Hernandez, and it doesn't just come down to vocals. Michael Johns has soul, albeit a little stiff. He has to choose his songs wisely though, and pick some catchier songs, else no matter how good your voice is, it'll come across as boring. David Hernandez is pretty smooth, but what I like about him is his willingness to improve and learn, unlike some of the other contestants who are obviously full of themselves and think they really have fans and have already made the big time. If Hernandez keeps working hard and picking the right songs, he should go far.

Now guys like David Cook and Chickezie Ezie have to take a page out from Archeluta's book of good manners and humility. Americans love a little brashness and arrogance to their guys, but overdoing it simply comes across as right jerks and no matter how much you hate Simon Cowell for his frank opinions, the guy has been in the business long enough and survived enough knocks to school these boys right. David Cook and Ezie were pretty dumb with their attitudes towards the judge and while they sang well enough to get through to the next round, they won't go far enough to win more fans than their own circle of friends if they go on shooting their mouths off and not take criticism constructively.

What's up with Danny Noriega? I just can't believe this guy was in a punk rock band, he looked more like that girl in the picture than being someone who should be competing with the boys instead of on the second night.

So who will get kicked out tomorrow night from the guys? My top two choices are Luke Menard and Jason Yeager - no surprises there. These two guys have zero personality and their voices are not too great. Menard should stick to acapella and the Bee Gees, really. Yeager? I'm not too sure what he should stick to, maybe not singing.

So, will David Archuleta win American Idol season 7 and be the contestant to beat, like Simon Cowell hinted? I believe so. Great fan support, great voice, great package. The only thing would be his fans not voting for him at all, and if he has complete versatility in handling other genres. If they keep showing clips of him as a little boy cooing and teasing his way into the hearts of older people (especially girls and women, look at how Kelly Clarkson took to him), this guy here, ladies and gentlemen, David Archeluta is a winner. A celebrity in the making. A future boy wonder. A definite American Idol David Archuleta. Whether he will sell any records after that, well, that's another thing altogether.

American Idol Season 7 Top 12 Men - Who's Got It?

Simon Cowell's favorite phrase of the night was who's got it, who doesn't? So who's got it and who doesn't in the Top 12 Men for American Idol Season 7? Before the results are revealed tomorrow night, I've decided to list which male contestants would be safe, which would be in for the drop and who are the next celebrity in waiting from this competition.

One of the shoo-ins for the next round would be David Archeluta. Honestly, I never quite got into the kid before this episode, but he really brought it on and you can be sure that the girls will all be screaming for David Archeluta pictures and news now. The kid's a natural on the stage and actually does have a really good mature singing vocal. And precocious might be a little bit light to describe him - he's incredibly likable and while it doesn't spell good news for celebrity gossip and scandal media hounds, it means he should be able to concentrate on the competition and do well.

Michael Johns was disappointing even though the judges generally liked him. I thought he was a little pitchy although he's still by far one of the better vocalists on American Idol this season and has a mature stage presence. The rest of the guys did not impress me that much, except maybe that Robbie Carrico ex boyband member turned rocker wannabe. Danny Noriega made a really bad song choice - Elvis tunes are great but a real no no on American Idol I feel. Especially with a strong field of male contestants this season 7. And I'm not too sure what the big deal about David Cook is - kinda arrogant and seems to think he might be on the straight path to stardom and celebrity status. He should really get rid of that hair too. It doesn't look too great on him, but that's just my opinion.

Guys whom I think would be one of those who might be eliminated this week would be Chikezie (pitchy, boring), Luke Menard (weak vocal), and Garrett Haley (forgettable although you gotta give the boy credit for being positive with criticism). They can sing to a certain respectable extent but not material for American Idol. I would be surprised if they get past the Top 6 guys in the coming weeks for this season.

American Idol Season 7 Scandals Start To Rear Heads

The American Idol top 24 finalists enjoyed a night out and wild party as preparations for next week's elimination rounds start to gather pace. You would start to expect many celebrity pictures of these American Idol contestants appearing soon as they get down and dirty in all sorts of parties and scandals. Kristy Lee Cook was seen gyrating to the music, with hips in full swing and showing her wild side despite trying to portray that good old girl next door and wholesome country image on previous episodes and auditions. Much like how Britney Spears turned from a virgin to a wild, crack cocaine celebrity. Kristy Lee Cook might feel mighty confident of her chances but if you can only sing one song well (Amazing Grace) you better be able to change the arrangement to suit each week's genre to get away from doing that. :)

Another scandal that might be brewing could be an American Idol love in the works with Kady Malloy spotted holding hands with Colton Berry, who was the last guy to be chosen for the Top 24, over politician wannabe and full time comedy geek Kyle Enslick. Remember what happened to Paula Abdul many seasons ago who was accused of sleeping with a contestant? Except this time it's between contestants. But it must surely not be the first time such celebrity wannabes would be caught in the act. Let's just hope no nude pictures or sex tapes like Paris Hilton's ever make the light of day. Obviously both won't go far since nobody really remembers them anyway, but with romance brewing in the air, they might just snatch the headlines away from the better singers on American Idol season 7.

Carly Smithson Facing Backlash From American Idol Fans For Professional Past

Carly Smithson, an early frontrunner for American Idol season 7, is facing increasing backlash from fans of the show for her professional past as a recording artist and celebrity who released a major label record that flopped spectacularly. Despite receiving plaudits from American Idol celebrity judges Randy, Paula and most specifically Simon Cowell, Carly Smithson's recording dud the 2001 debut with MCA Records "Ultimate High" was the the Ultimate Stinker as it sold only 400 copies after the first three months of its release. Will we hear more of Carly Smithson news and even *gasp* see American Idol scandal pictures of Carly Smithson herself in full tattooed glory?

American Idol fans and media hounds are claiming that the show this season has already been fixed and the obvious winners would be contestants who have had professional recording contracts in the past such as Carly Smithson and Kristy Lee Cook. American Idol was created to search for the best untapped singing talents in America, and this appears to have contradicted that although after last season's ruckus with Sanjaya Malakar. It also defies logic and belief that in such an industry, if an artiste like Carly Smithson had flopped so badly in the past, it would not make good business sense to have her back. However, it all does come down to marketing and packaging. And perhaps all this is really just a marketing move by American Idol to revive ratings and controversy in the backdrop of falling ratings, despite still being the number one show on Fox. This would continually explain how the once highly rated singing contest is now really just a celebrity circus, with fans waiting in anticipation each season for more examples of Antonella Barba scandals and picture galleries instead of caring too much about who the better singing sensation would be.

American Idol Season 7 Top 50 Becomes Top 24

So who from the Top 50 made it to the American Idol Top 24 list for season 7? It's not like you don't already know since we revealed it earlier before this episode was aired today and even a mystery picture from Fox which showed the Top 24 contestants with Simon Cowell's face pasted over them provided many clues as to who got through. But today's show started as usual in good old American style - full of cheese and corn and showing how short Ryan Seacrest really is.

With this season 7 having some of the best talents ever since American Idol started, it was fair that the judges had a tough job on their hands in selecting the top 24 list, especially when there was no benefit of a last round of auditions to convince them. Simon Cowell did not seem happy with the final picks but as long as the winner goes to his label, why should he care too much.

It was fun as usual watching all the fake oh my goshes and sad looks on the American Idol hopefuls when they heard a fellow contestant did not make the cut for the Top 24. C'mon now peeps! One down, one more chance for you. That's the thing about American Idol - it really shows you how fake people are. And Asia'H Epperson was the first one to display that - now we all know Asia'H Epperson made it ever since her Myspace page was taken off by Fox. But girl, enough of that personal tragedy spin and fake goody two shoes persona. I know you can sing, but keep it real, Asia'H. And get rid of that overdone makeup.

There was never any doubt that Carly Smithson would make it. The European's got great power and range in her vocals but lacks just that little bit of confidence. Paula Abdul the evil little witch decided to mess around with Carly Smithson's head before letting her know that she made it to the Top 24. This really showed how evil Paula Abdul really is and she's the number one poser on American Idol. Simon Cowell thought she was bad ass and gave her a piece of his mind.

I'm not so sure why David Cook wowed the judges, except Simon. He almost lost his voice there and does not have that versatility required to shine on American Idol. Remember contestants are supposed to sing in various genres. Amanda Overmyer has a much better voice but again, that unsuitability of her voice in other genres would work against her. And she's got a really bad look. Goth will never make it on American Idol.

Paralyzed vocal boy David Archeluta was a shoo in for the Top 24 for American Idol season 7 since the preliminary auditions but he does have some dodgy pitch problems and it will be magnified tenfold come the Top 24 auditions trust me. No matter how much of a pure voice and 'complete package' you might have, you still need to nail the notes perfectly, David.

Kristy Lee Cook is next she's hot just hot but really Kristy has a problem she does not seem to be able to sing anything well or consistently enough except Amazing Grace and I'm afraid she might not last beyond the first week of the Top 24. American Idol season 7 needs you, Kristy, so buck up and show the world that you can sing just as well as you look. I'm gonna buy that old CD of yours now.

Brooke The Nanny White actually does look like The Nanny in the film of the same name. Perhaps she needs to start watching some R rated movies in order to calm her nerves. I never understood why these American Idol contestants would cry so much. Brooke White'll quit if she doesn't get to the Top 24 even though we know she did get through but these children are not that passionate about their music really. Giving up if you don't make it in American Idol? Brooke White does look increasingly hot though, especially in that little red one piece.

Now I don't really like Danny Noriega that much. He's a strange looking kid and either he really loves theatre or likes soap on the floor. Kinda over confident as well, different from when he got booted out in a previous season. Still, he is impressive on vocals, but if you did not make it previously, you ain't gonna make it this time, Danny Noriega.

Nothing much has been made of young Alexandre Lushington but keep an eye out for this girl. She might just do big things this season. I remember her audition and she was really good. Another one that should do well enough would be short little cutie Ramiele Malubay because the whole Filipino community would be voting for her and that's one huge group you can bet your bottom dollar on it. Simon Cowell just wants to hug her you know it that old dirty man.

Strongest guy in the Top 24 list would be Michael Johns great voice and range but again he might suffer from having to sing other genres beyond that of which he's comfortable with so we shall see how he does next week. Syesha Mercado made it as well and the only things that she needs to improve are her health and that silly hairdo. Spare a little thought for Josiah Leming though - thought his Hollywood auditions really sucked but the guy obviously wanted it so bad and his segment after getting turned down for the Top 24 list was the most heartbreaking moment on American Idol season 7 so far.

Colton Berry has no chance. Making up the numbers that is all. Maybe for Paula Abdul to hug when she wants little boys to cuddle up with. But Joanne Borgella should do well for a while as she's likeable and has a big voice although it kinda gets squeaky in the higher register. It's a little too bad Cardin McKinney did not make it through as she does have that look for an American Idol future scandal watch but we'll have to do with Amy Davis and Kristy Lee Cook for now.

So it's on to the Top 24 elimination rounds starting next week with the Top 12 guys and girls before decision day on Thursday. Can't wait for more of American Idol this season 7 - I'm sure you can't either!

American Idol Season 7 Goes To Hollywood

This week American Idol season 7 finally goes to Hollywood, with 164 contestants heading to the next round of auditions thinking they know what they're in for but Ryan Seacrest disagrees and welcomes us to Hollywood. And clean cut Brooke White she of the no sex no movies no frills persona is up first on show and introduces us to instrumentation for the contestants for the first time in the first round of American Idol's Hollywood auditions. She plays Beautiful and that's what she looks like as well as a ride to the final day of Hollywood. And by the way all that crap about this being the first American Idol season to allow instruments was just so untrue - it has been allowed before in the past.

Next you have Lorena Pinot as an example of an easy 'No' from the judges as she could not sing and was decked out in a cheesy outfit that was so passe. Amy Flynn was also cut after the second round as she could not hit the high notes. Maybe some sex would do her good. Do we need to know more of those who were dropped? I really thought not as well.

So let's talk about the ones who did get through to the next round. Before that a tip to American Idol wannabes - stay away from playing your instruments if you want to get through. They want singers, not instrumentalists. Like Randy Jackson said "Just sing next time, baby" and that's what all of you should do.

David Hernandez took that up and he was great. Nice smooth voice and showed more of what he could do vocally compared to his San Diego auditions. It sounded effortless as well with his little vocal gymnastics. Definitely one to look out for in the finals David Hernandez. The only thing that might stop him are his nerves. Sure did not look confident before and even after.

Rock and roll nurse Amanda Overmyer showed quality in the earlier auditions and came up with her own sob story before Hollywood, saying how she totaled her car one week before and suffered some injuries including 12 staples in her head but could she still sing? Did you all notice how much Simon Cowell loves Amanda - he winks at her all the time. We know Simon's taste in women but you never realised how much of a nurse fetish he had. Honestly though, I don't dig Amanda Overmyer at all. She'll suffer in other genres other than rock or non-angsty songs. And Simon Cowell echoed what I thought. Great minds think alike.

No sign of Kristy Lee Cook yet.

Little gerbil and Brit wannabe Josiah Leming would never be American Idol simply because he doesn't think he's American and the worst news would befall him when he gets to the final round. He could set up his own Brit pop band though and that might get him a record deal with Randy Jackson. Spare a thought for him though - he tried too hard and a real heartbreaker really. But Ramiele Malubay would be in the stakes for a long while - you can be sure the Filipino community would be voting like crazy for this little girl. Some other potential finalists would be Michael Lee Johns and Carly Smithson who looks like making up for lost time. It looks like this year might be the year of the gruff voice and rocker chicks as we have quite a number of these getting through, including David Cook and Robbie Carrico. Perhaps American Idol season 7 might see the revival of Chris Daughtry version 2.

Cataldo did not make it through to the final round of Hollywood auditions. You could see his true self emerging on this episode of American Idol. All that gangster attitude just flowing out.

Kristy Lee Cook finally makes an appearance and redid her Amazing Grace acapella that finally got her through. Not a good sign that she needed two rounds but let's hope she picks herself up and makes a great big push to the finals. But she's got big competition in David Archuleta - all the judges loved him although he's not perfect vocally. But Syesha Mercado overcame sickness and loss of voice and she could surprise many in the finals if she stays away from the same situation. Michael Johns was terrific this could be the dark horse of American Idol although he's got too much of an Australian twang and you know guys like him have lesser chance from American voters.

Asia'H Epperson actually looked pretty good this round of auditions, sang well and really seemed like a complete package. Simon Cowell loved her and you know that's always good. At the end of it all, you get your American Idol season 7 final top 24.

Asia'H Epperson In American Idol Season 7 Top 24?

While this week will see the start of the elimination rounds of American Idol season 7 that will whittle down the hundreds of contestants and celebrity wannabes to the top 24 that will qualify for the American Idol finals, news of the Top 24 list having been leaked on the Internet has already started and many are trying to find out who qualified for this final round. One sure sign is that any online personal profile page of an American Idol Top 24 finalist will be removed as requested by Fox Network and American Idol. Asia'H Epperson has been one of the first few to receive such attention as her Myspace page has since been removed and celebrity pictures of her are not that easy to find. If you did not notice Asia'H Epperson in the auditions, shame on you. She was one of the sob stories of Season 7, where her dad was killed on her way to the auditions and she pulled through to qualify. Although I personally thought her singing was not that up to par, the judges loved her and thought Asia'H was good enough to go to Hollywood.

Asia'H Epperson's Myspace page has been removed and this is a sure sign that she has qualified for the Top 24. We will bring you more news of Asia'H and other contestants who have stood out and qualified for this prestigious list as the American Idol season 7 show continues this week. You can bet your bottom dollar that many of the singers who have gotten into the Top 24 would be professional singers or those with experience, as American Idol was severely criticised last year for a lack of quality.

Asia'H Epperson is now ranked 14 on Entertainment Weekly's American Idol Power Rankings for week 4, as she steadily moves up the charts. Slammed for her quivering vocals as she struggled to sing properly while holding back her tears, she is expected to move further up on the strength of her sob story. But in time to come, what would be expected more than her voice will be pictures of her growing celebrity status as Asia'H Epperson does have quite a hot body on top of a great singing voice.

But Asia'H Epperson overdoes it on the drama and shouting diva tracks. She must really have thought that she was that good. To be honest, she was already exposed during her very first audition - Asia'H's voice is limited and not suitable for screaming tracks - maybe the slow soft ballads would serve her better.

And really the teaser American Idol has left us is that they've saved the best for last and they really do mean the best hot girls there's plenty of that in this episode and you'll really love them. So the first one on this episode is half Japanese Amy Davis who is beautiful and that body is just hot hot hot! And she tops it all off with a great voice and you never know if she'll get involved in some scandal but showing more of that upper body would be nice from Amy Davis.

Cardin Lee McKinney is next and she's a waitress and server in Nashville and she can serve me up all day if she wants. Perfect cheekbones and that little red dress makes her real hot not to mention her freakin' A voice. Off to Hollywood and come to me little baby Cardin Lee McKinney! Joanne Borgella is strangely hot in her own plus size way - big girl, big hair, big everything and even a big voice. And now she's off to big Hollywood this Joanne Borgella. The American Idol contestant with the catchiest name ever in its history Chikezie Eze is back and out to make Randy Jackson feel him as best as he could. I'm not sure if American Idol fans would wanna see how Randy Jackson feels him up but Chikezie Eze did enough the second time round to get to Hollywood. His parents didn't look the least bit interested though. The last guy was Danny Nogueira and he can sing no doubt about it he might be the next Aerosmith vocalist but he really needs to keep his nerves away but we shall see what Danny Nogueira can achieve.

American Idol Season 7 Auditions At Atlanta Georgia

So what are the latest and hottest rumors about American Idol and in particular season 7? Unless you count the continued speculation that Simon Cowell is still sleeping with Paula Abdul when in fact it could be Randy Jackson who is the guilty one, then there is nothing much yet in terms of American Idol rumors. However, there have been no shortage of hot babes to look at despite the auditions not spotlighting too many of them yet and this week American Idol goes back to Atlanta, Georgia in the quest for more of the best American singing talents and eye candy. This is the city where American Idol discovered Clay Aitken, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia Moreno, who have sold millions and millions of albums and Broadway plays and movies between them. Not to mention a miraculous Oscar win by Jennifer Hudson for a movie that no one watches.

Unfortunately we got a guy up first on the Atlanta Georgia show and he is someone who works with glass. Like, who really cares? Joshua Jones steps up claiming to show the judges something that they have not seen in any other contestants, and with a pose and a pair of 'demonic eyes', he really got to Simon Cowell who obviously did not like him despite a decent voice. But the other two judges as always, loved him and allowed him to go through. What can we say about Joshua Jones except that he really gets into his performances but unless you are into rock and pose gigs, Joshua Jones will not go far in American Idol. But he is going to Hollywood. Now we don't usually like to cover the jokers and losers, but the next guy is quite a laugh. A failure in season 4 and a failure again this season 7, J.P. Tjelmeland is another example of America Demented. J.P. even said he's a music major. In singing! Good lord what is this world coming to?

Next up is your mandatory sob story of the episode. Asia'H Epperson was heading for her American Idol audition, gave a call to her dad to let him know, and thirty minutes later she got a phonecall from her brother that her dad had just died from a car accident. Wow what a story! And you know Americans would lap it up. I think Asia'H's kinda hot though - great smile and a sexy sultry voice. She sang for her dad but unfortunately she's got some pitch problems. But Asia'H Epperson sang her way into the judges' hearts and Hollywood. But oh my god it was the sob story of the American Idol season so far and Paula Abdul had to leave the stage to cry her eyes out and you could see that even Simon Cowell was affected.

Brooke Helvie is Ms South Florida Fair and she wants to prove to Simon Cowell that pageant girls can sing. Well they might be able to sing but they have to look good too but Brooke Helvie has sleepy eyes and I don't know how she became a pageant girl - it must be a small place in South Florida. Keep a lookout for the next American Idol sex scandal because pageant queens love to get down and dirty and this pageant queen Brooke Helvie got to Hollywood and she has the bod and attitude to get into something dirty later in the season. Eva Miller is someone you do not want to see too much. Ugly, looking like a nightmare housemate I once had from the Philippines who was deprived, and a dirty mouth, Eva Miller was also living in a world of her own thinking she could get to Hollywood. It's obvious that Eva Miller is a professional comedian and trying to get her five minutes of fame. Next.

Alexandrea Lushinton a 16 year old was featured next and a very low key little girl but what a big family including her 93 year old granny. Nothing much to say about her as American Idol did not show much of Alexandrea but the girl can sing crystal clear and a beautiful voice. The judges loved it and sent her through to Hollywood. A great example of America's problem teens is Nathan Hite who is only 16 and thinks the world owes him a big favor. Kids nowadays are growing up all spoilt and having not worked their behinds off for a living and the right to live, they demand a right to everything from the get go. Nathan Hite is everything bad about America and God Bless America. It's a good thing for American Idol and Nathan Hite does not get through to Hollywood.

You have a goth girl next and a nurse in Amanda Overmeyer. She rides a Harley too and it all makes up for the next Jessica Sierra. What does she sing? Janis Joplin, of course. Like I have said in the past many times, anyone who sings Janis Joplin isn't a singer, but a wannabe screamer. Janis Joplin does not sing, she screams. But she sings another tune and the strength of her voice comes out well but not one to go far as she won't be able to sing anything other than rock baby. Off to Hollywood Amanda Overmeyer goes but she'll be back sooner than she thought.

Finally, you have a real teddy bear 18 year old Josiah Leming who lives in his car and lives a nomadic life performing. Gave up school a year ago to do this and you can see real desire in his eyes and a very down to earth but yet quietly determined fella. You know Josiah Leming is the real deal but can he sing? Yes he has a British accent and he's from Tennessee oh boy what will American Idol make of this? We have to wait and see as Josiah Leming is off to Hollywood!
